Is your e-invoicing software on FPS Finance's list?

November 2024 - From 1 January 2026, all Belgian VAT-registered companies must use inter-company structured electronic invoices. Want to check whether your company's e-invoicing software complies with the new regulations?

Electronic invoices are documents exchanged directly between the software of different companies. Sending an invoice in PDF via email or platform will no longer suffice from 2026.

Structured electronic invoices will be sent via a decentralised network called Peppol. To send and receive your invoices, your invoicing or accounting software will make a secure connection to this Peppol network to which your customer or supplier is also connected. Peppol can be compared to a telecom network. Thanks to this network, data are exchanged securely and structurally between the various applications.

Do you only work for private customers? This obligation does not apply to outgoing invoices to those private customers. But beware: you must be able to receive structured electronic invoices from your suppliers. So you do have to adapt your systems for this purpose by January 2026.

Want to check whether the e-invoicing software in your office complies with the new regulations? The FPS Finance publishes a list of software solutions that are ready to send, receive and process e-invoices through the Peppol network. This list is an important reference for companies looking to modernise their invoicing and comply with legal obligations.
