Avoid a tax increase? Don't forget your advance payment!

Avoid a tax increase? Don't forget your advance payment!

September 2023 - As a business owner or accountant, your diary fills up quickly with appointments and deadlines. You will no doubt have made a note in your diary of the most important dates in the 2023 tax calendar, so that you are always in good order, particularly when it comes to advance payments and tax returns.

However, as your business diary quickly fills up with appointments of all kinds, it can happen that you miss a particular deadline. We would therefore like to remind you that this year's third advance payment must be made by 10 October 2023 at the latest.

This early payment will enable you to avoid a surcharge when calculating tax on the basis of your tax return. Please note: 10 October 2023 is the date by which the payment must already appear in the taxman's account. It is therefore in your interest to make your payment a few days earlier. Any payment arriving in the Inland Revenue's account after this date will be carried over to the following quarter.

The deadline for the fourth quarter is 20 December 2023.
